COMPANY

Founded in 1997, DESIGN in FORM’s special expertise lies in the design, construction and manufacture of experimental tools and fixtures for product and vehicle development.

In close cooperation with our sister company TECHNIK in FORM Blechbearbeitung GmbH, we supply the entire range of services from individual parts and assemblies to complete end products and all the operating equipment required for production and testing. The main focus of our engineers’ and technicians’ activities is the CAD design of sheet metal components, tools, jigs and gauges. This includes programming, simulation and method planning.

  • 1997
    Spin-off of the design and toolmaking divisions from TECHNIK in FORM Blechbearbeitung GmbH and foundation of DESIGN in FORM Fertigungstechnik GmbH
    Acquisition of the first NC-controlled milling machining center and establishment of the first CAD workstation
  • 1998/99
    Construction and occupation of the first production hall for DiF and TiF with 600 m², including production areas for DiF of 110 m².
    Introduction of QMS and initial certification of the management system according to DIN EN ISO 9001
  • 2000
    Expansion of the production areas for TiF and DiF to 1,000 m², including production areas for DiF of 410 m².
  • 2001
    Acquisition of the first 3D laser cutting system and start of 5-axis laser processing
  • 2004
    Construction of an office building and a warehouse
    Acquisition of a 5-axis milling center
  • 2007
    Replacement of the 3D laser cutting system with a higher-quality
  • 2009
    Acquisition of a 2D laser cutting machine
  • 2010
    Establishment of a milling center for apprenticeship training
  • 2013
    Acquisition of three new milling machining centers and one turning machining center
  • 2014
    Introduction of forming simulation, Pam-Stamp software
  • 2015
    Acquisition of a 5-axis machining center
    Initial certification of environmental management according to ISO 14001:2009
  • 2016/17
    Construction of two production halls, thus expanding DiF’s production area by 1,100 m² to a total of 1,585 m².
    Construction of a new office floor and a new social building
  • 2018
    Acquisition of an additional new 3D laser cutting and welding system
    Conversion of the QM system to ISO 9001:2015
    Conversion of the UM system to EMAS
  • 2019
    Acquisition of a large-format 3-axis milling center
  • 2020
    TISAX Certification
